Recommend me a camera?

When it comes to camera's, i know jack all!

Basically, looking for a digi cam that will give me a good clear picture when things are moving, i've only ever owned two camera's and neither have the shutter speed (i think) to capture a good picture with movement, for example, mid jump.

So, can anyone recommend me what i'd need? Let me know what kind of budget i need to be in and why i should choose that one. Cheers.
